Thai Union Receives Human Rights Award 2020 From Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Thai Ministry of Justice

29 September 2020, BANGKOK – Thai Union Group PCL. has been recognized as a role model organization for its best practices on human rights to ensure protections for all workers across the Company and through its supply chains.

The Human Rights Award 2020 was awarded in the private sector category by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department of the Thai Ministry of Justice.

Thai Union was praised for its crucial role in applying its Business Ethics and Labor Code of Conduct, which has been implemented across its operations around the world, including its subsidiaries and suppliers. The Rights and Liberties Protection Department also acknowledged Thai Union’s ethical recruitment practices, which have been recognized by organizations around the world; and its programs such as worker welfare committees and its Speak Out – The Thai Union Compliance reporting hotline that is available 365 days a year, that have given all workers a voice. Okeanos Food Co., Ltd and Pakfood Public PCL., Thai Union Group’s subsidiaries, also received honourable mentions.

The Human Rights Award is awarded annually to highlight work being done on human rights by the public sector, state enterprises and the private sector, including non-profit organizations (NGOs), in Thailand, for sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.
