GLOBAL URGENCY
Mangroves are estimated to provide at least US$1.6 billion in ecosystem services each year, prevent US$65 billion in property damages as well as reduce the flood risk for 15 million people. Yet, the world's area of mangrove forests was reduced by about 35% between 1980-2020.

Coral reefs harbor at least 25% of all known marine species, but are under threat from a range of global and local issues, the largest being rising ocean temperatures. However, they are a resilient ecosystem that can recover providing their marine environment is safeguarded and we can create the right conditions.
Rainforestations are also under threat, with almost one-fifth of tropical deforestation being driven by oilseeds, such as soybean and palm oil; a key commodity in the seafood industry.
